A traction splint is used to temporarily immobilize and provide traction to a fractured leg. The traction pulls the muscles to their normal length and allows the fractured bone to slip back into the proper position. Applying a traction splint to either closed or opened femur fracture effectively provides pain and bleeding reduction and restores the damage of the leg tissue, nerve tension, blood vessels, bones, and muscles. Application is fast and easy with the unique one-piece design. Our splint is made of a lightweight telescoping aluminum frame to provide as much comfort as possible during transport to the hospital. It is equipped with a ratchet traction device, “S” ring hook, heel stand and locking release pull ring, collet locking device, 4 leg support straps, ischial strap and pad, adjustable ankle strap, carrying case, and instructions.
